Introducing the New AI Settings Assistant on Copilot+ PCs

Microsoft is rolling out a powerful new Copilot+ PC feature designed to simplify how you find and change Windows 11 settings. This intelligent AI-powered assistant in Windows Settings helps users quickly resolve common issues by simply describing what they need—such as “how to control my PC by voice” or “mouse pointer too small.”

Using on-device AI, the assistant understands your intent and—with your permission—can automate or walk you through system changes. This new experience is now available for Windows Insiders on Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, with Intel™ and AMD support coming soon. Note: This feature currently supports PCs with English as the primary display language.

New Recall Snapshot Export Feature for Windows Insiders in the European Economic Area (EEA)

Microsoft is introducing a new Recall export feature for Copilot+ PCs, now available to Windows Insiders in the European Economic Area (EEA). With this update, users can securely export Recall snapshots to share with trusted third-party apps and websites.

When you enable Recall and opt to save snapshots, you’ll receive a unique Recall export code, required for exporting your data. This export code is shown only once during setup and is essential for decrypting exported snapshots—Microsoft does not store or recover this code.

Privacy and Security First

  • Exported Recall data is encrypted

  • Windows Hello authentication is required before any export

  • Only users with the export code and snapshot path can access the data

  • If the code is lost or compromised, you must reset Recall—deleting all saved snapshots and settings

  • After reset, a new export code will be generated upon reactivation

How to Export Recall Snapshots in Windows 11

Go to:
Settings > Privacy & Security > Recall & Snapshots > Advanced Settings

Two export options are available:

  1. Export Past Snapshots – Select data from the last 7 days, 30 days, or all time

  2. Export Future Snapshots – Enable continuous export from the moment you turn it on

For details, see Export Recall snapshots.

Note: Export functionality is disabled by default on managed devices. IT admins can control this using the AllowRecallExport policy or Group Policy.

Important for Existing Users

Windows Insiders in the EEA with Recall already enabled on their Copilot+ PCs will have their existing Recall data reset after installing this new build.
